UFS Dorm Accommodation

Residence Accommodation is available to registered SACAIR2024 attendees

The SACAIR LOC is offering attendees the opportunity to reside on Campus at the University of the Free State, in Outeniqua Residence (Dorm) for the duration of the conference (Located a short 10-minute walk (1km) away from the Equitas Building.  Please scroll down to view the location of the Residence on Google maps).

Accommodation Rates:

Residence accommodation rates on a Bed and Breakfast basis are as follows:

• Single dorm room | R 500.00 per day  per room

When can I reserve my accommodation?

Accommodation can be reserved and paid for via the registration system. Conference registration is now open.

By when do I need to reserve and pay for my accommodation?

All reservations and payments for accommodation to be finalised by 4 November 2024.
(No cancellations or reimbursements after 4 November 2024)

Accommodation Dates:

NB: Vistors are required to access the UFS Campus via Gate 5

You can opt to stay the week or only for select consecutive days.

Accommodation is available as follows:

• Sunday, 1 December 2024, check-in from 14:00
• Monday, 2 December 2024
•  Tuesday, 3 December 2024
• Wednesday, 4 December 2024
• Thursday, 5 December 2024
•  Friday, 6 December 2024
• Saturday, 7 December check-out before 10:00

Check-in from 14:00 |  Check-out before 10:00

What is included?

• Room key and access card. Please note: Any lost keys/access cards will be charged accordingly
• Secure access control to the residence
• A residence room with a single bed and linen for the bed, a desk, and a chair
• A shared bathroom (male/female separately)
• Communal kitchenette with hot water dispenser (No crockery or cutlery)

Rooms are not serviced daily (Only you have access to your room during your stay). All shared spaces are cleaned and serviced daily.

Breakfast served at Awela Restaurant:

Weekdays: 07:15 – 08:00
Saturday: 08:00 – 09:00

Coffee is unfortunately only served at breakfast at the Awela Restaurant. Consider bringing your own travel kettle, mug and beverage of choice.

What to bring:

• Towels
• Clothing Hangers
• Clothes iron
